BUTTON NECKLACE #5

SUPPLIES NEEDED:     Cotton Crochet Thread
                                           Crochet Hook, size 8
                                           1 Large Sewing Needle
                                           30 Large Buttons
                                           95 Small Buttons
                                           1 Shank Button
                                           Scissors

ABBREVIATIONS:          sl st = slip stitch
                                            sc = single crochet
                                            dc = double crochet
                                            ch = chain

CROCHET DIRECTIONS are located at the bottom of this page.

NOTE: Using the sewing needle and the crochet cotton, string all the buttons onto the thread before beginning to crochet.

Ch 50, pull up a small button, ch 1, pull up a small button, ch 1, pull up a large button, ch 1. Repeat this 3-button sequence until there are 14 large buttons and 45 small buttons on the strand. Do not turn.

Ch 58, sl st in 8th ch from hook to form a buttonhole.

Ch 45, pull up a small button, ch 1, pull up a small button, ch 1, pull up a large button, ch 1. Repeat the 3-button sequence until there are 16 large buttons and 50 small buttons on the strand.

Ch 45, sl st at the beginning of the chain. Fasten off, leaving a tail to which you tie a shank button.
